About the beta
Better decisions need a memory.
Advice is easy to give before a purchase and easy to forget afterwards. BackMyDecision records the number behind a recommendation, preserves its assumptions and makes room for the real outcome.
What it does now
The UK solar beta estimates annual benefit and simple payback, compares the baseline with an installer's claim, creates a private decision receipt and schedules optional return reminders.
What it does not do
It does not sell solar, connect visitors with installers, sell enquiries, replace a roof survey or provide financial, structural, electrical or installation advice.
Why the scoreboard is not public yet
A meaningful accuracy score needs comparable real-world outcomes. BackMyDecision will not invent ratings or crown a winner before enough homeowners have returned with evidence.
How the beta earns trust
Each saved decision carries a model version and timestamp. Assumptions and limitations are published. Model changes are described instead of silently rewriting past forecasts.
